The Stranger was on my Well-Educated Mind List, and I really didn't care for it. It was even a little weird. But I liked this book. As much as anyone could like a book about a plague in an Algerian city in the 40's. Reading this made me realize that Camus is a very brilliant writer. If you were turned off by The Stranger, try Camus again!

The Stranger was on my Well-Educated Mind List, and I really didn't care for it. It was even a little weird. But I liked this book. As much as anyone could like a book about a plague in an Algerian city in the 40's. Reading this made me realize that Camus is a very brilliant writer. The only thing I remember about this book is that it was really depressing. I have no memory about the plot except for the vaguest impressions. So I guess it just didn't stick with me!
