We are looking for places to stay on Kauai for our 20th wedding anniversary. This beach is supposed to be the best snorkeling!

We've been to Kauai twice. Tunnels is nice but there's NEVER any parking available. We were there in off-season and *still* couldn't find parking. It's a residential area with no parking except on streets, and those are limited. We've stayed in Wailua and in Hanalei -- it gets colder and rainier the farther north you go (and Tunnels is toward the north). We stayed in a great little place on the Wailua River, a three-minute drive to Wailua Beach and the landlady had kayaks available for us to kayak up the river past Fern Grotto -- our favorite thing to do. We also loved Ke'e Beach at the northernmost drivable part of the island. Enough parking, great snorkeling, and hiking trails start there to Napali Coastline -- cameras mandatory!
E-mail me for more info -- we've covered the island pretty thoroughly. :)
